I've played it and I saw some good and bad.
The Good: Players can no longer live in man coverage. Playing Cov 1, Cov 0, and bump N run man is a huge risk and will get burned if you live in it. Theres actually a pass rush in this game no more do you got 10 year to sit in the pocket vs a 4 or 5 man pass rush. Shotgun running has greatly Improved but then again we said this abut this time last year and it was a flop. Pulling blockers actually block.
The bad:
The 1-5-5 is way too effective I was able to completly shutdown a offense using it all game and it even stonewalls the power run game. The defense takes poor pursuit angels against the run. The DE can play both the QB and RB on the read option. Fumbles happen way too much on user big hits. It seems like every QB still has pinpoint accuracy and can fit the ball in tight areas like there John Elway. The game speed is a little too high defenders should not be able to get into postion that fast.
Thats all I got so far. This is a good game but not a great game and its a improved version of ncaa 11 thats all it really is. I'm still stuck on the fence on weather I'm gonna but it or not.

You guys can all come with "the good" and "the bad" but you won't really know until 2-3 seasons into the COFL b/c by then everyone will have figured out how to beat certain formations & defenses. No sense in getting all caught up in the hoopla of what works and what doesn't. Go into the game with an open mind and have fun.

I already know how to beat certain coverages just use basic football Xs and Os and your all set.

My thoughts:
Pros:
Collision Base Tackling Badass (I can't tackle worth shit) Blocking in all level much improved (screens are beastly) Zone is no hoe (beware my zone blitz) #31 for Texas is a fucking animal (playing with & against him) FSU is this years OSU (ZZ probably creamed himself when he played with them)
Cons:
Running animations still need to be tweeked (still skating) I see leg glitches here and there (maybe cause is the demo) Blitzes are fast s shit (even my blitzes to me felt way to fast) Oregons defense sucks (they couldn't stop 31 for shit) Why does LaMicheal James have fucking shit locks???
Overall:
Way better than 11 & once they fix the small odd ball shit this games could lay claim as being one of thee greatest!

This shit better improve is EA wants me to buy ncaa 12. The bad is outweighing the bad. Defenders run away from the ball carrier, Its hard as hell to get a pitch off in the option, the cpu still cheats, the blocking seems to be messed up at times I cant account for a hat on hat when I have more blockers then the defense has defenders in the box. I understand this is not the final product but damn.

Starshaw EA could give a rats ass less if you buy the game, and whats up with your whining over every thing.
If you hate it that much don't buy it, and go play frogger.

I've played a solid 8-10 games so far with my roomate and here's a list of things I've noticed that refute starshaws whining:
1. 1-5-5 sucks in this game, run it all game on me, I'll put up a 50 spot on you. 2. We've kept everything set on normal as far as adjustments on purpose and we've had 2 fumbles in 10 games, and I big hit all the time. 3. The defensive end can't guard both the RB and QB, I run it all the time with FSU against Bama and smoke him. 4. Defensive pursuit angles aren't anywhere near as bad as you say. If fact, I have no complaints about em at all. They'll only get better with the real game or the first patch. 5. The QB accuracy is incredible in this game. Play with Texas and GG overthrows ppl left and right. Same with Manuel. 6. Love the game speed. If it was any slower it would be madden and I hate maddens game speed. 7. It's easy to get the pitch off in the option, maybe you just suck at running it? Hit the lab. 8. The blocking is fine too, set up your blocks better and they block.
All in all your arguements against the demo are ridiculous. Stop playing the game looking for faults and start enjoying yourself or just don't play it period. It's vastly improved from 11' and if you can't see that it's laughable. 5.

Jesus fucking christ am I not allowed to have a opinion on this game?
1. The very first I played I was able to play a shutdown defense and have not used it since.
2.Just about every big hit I pulled off during the first game resulted in a fumble.
3. I figure the problem with that its not that I'm doing anything wrong. Theres 3 types read option plays from the shotgun Zone read option this is the one that has always been in the game and the one your used to, Veer read option EA has put this in the game and called it read option(same as what they call the zone read option) and the play art in the play book has the the QB going one way and the RB going the other(just like the zone read) but in the veer the QB and RB go the same direction I guess thats what I get for not looking at the play art at the LOS I will post screen shots of this later. Every shotgun WK formation that says read option is actually the veer option.
4. Yea there pretty damn bad the angles they take are horrible. Why would a defense run backwards and then forward then against run? I was not taught to play football like this. And I've seen(not much) were the every offensive linemen has throw there man to the turf.
5. It happens thats football.
6.This really is not a big deal to me but I would like to see it slowed down a little just so the defense does not get into postion so quick(very unrealistic).
7. From what I've seen it is not and I dont wait for a defender to hit my QB for me to pitch it either.
8. At times it is but there is no reason in hell why a defense should be able to stuff the runs when I have more blockers then they do defenders in the box or just as much.

Big Dingy nailed it, I agree with most of what he said... Starshaw you are rating the demo, really. This year already seems to play 100% better than '11.

Lol, Starshaw you're nuts. You need to relax and just enjoy the game. You're looking for reasons for it to suck. It's not that bad. I like the demo, the tackling is sweet. I think it's kind of the same just faster. Everything is faster. I like the DE rush, that's my specialty.
BigJang I'm running the 1-5-5 on you all day, you won't put 17 on me. Chump ass bitch.

Starshaw, you should realize by now that we all hate people who bitch. It's America, adapt and overcome. You have to adapt to how the game is played and overcome your mental weakness for competition. Kick rocks and suck it up.

Here what I mean about the type of read option plays that I explained earlier. This what the read option(its actually veer option) looks like in PB out of a wk formation. This is the same exact veer option(it says read option)play as the one above but this is the play art at the LOS. Notice how the QB and RB are going in the same direction and not mention that this play is completly wrong you are supposed to read the oppisite DE you ALWAYS read playside and not backside. This is the standard read option play(zone read option) that is not ran from a wk formation. It looks exactly like the first pic is drwan up(other then the fact there from 2 different formations) but yet they are 2 completly different plays. MY point is on this they should not call them all the same thing they should call one Zone read option and the other Veer read option since they are 2 completly different plays. I'm not whining nor complaining just pinting out the 2 different that can be easly mistaken as the same.

I'm sorry that I'm not one of those guys that just accepts the game for what it is even though it has flaws and big flaws at that. You're problem Starshaw is youre looking for the maestro of all video games each time a new one comes out instead of taking it for what it is. All I ask for is that EA be inventive, imaginative, and try an make a better game each year and them seem to do that. Who bitches about 1 play out of 5000 that are on the game being set-up wrong other then somebody whose looking completely negative at it. I remember playing madden 97 on regular playstation and couldnt even imagine or compare how good the game is now. This isn't real life and never will be, none the less chill out a bit and enjoy yourself.

Yes I noticed theres new plays and I'm excited that I can run a actual tampa 2 now and play Dungy ball and all of the creative schemes I can put to together with custom PBs. There I said something positive. Oh and I forgot to mention that I'm very excited for the pylon physics and texture grass since its really gonna bring the game to new heights and cause I wanna grow dreads cause EA finally added it and look like a plant is growing out of my head(free weed anyone?).

Sorry, 55 seasons since NCAA '05 isn't good enough. Name another league that's lasted 7 years...can't find one. Nobody can do what I do, just wait. NCAA 11 was pure shit, nobody was into it. We did 2 seasons, one in the beginning and one at the end.

this is the best demo I've played since I got my ps3. This game may rival 09 as the best one. Just wish they'd gotten rid of the game plan and run/pass commit shit. The defense is going to be much better this year and I doubt all the money plays from last year will work as well this year. Sure, some fuckup with no life will spend 2 months perfecting some AI exploits and find a way to glitch but it happens every year and we just deal with it. One way or another, I don't think you can get much worse than NCAA 11 so I think it will be a good year.
