I know that you're like a manager at WalMart, so I was just wondering why do you guys have 35 lanes and only 4 of them open at a time? It just pisses me off to have to wait in line like 10 minutes. oh and for laughs for the COFLers. www.peopleofwalmart.com

I would guess that they don't find 35 people on shift to run registers very efficient from a labor cost perspective.

They can tell EXACTLY how many cans of green beans have went through their register year to date or just for last hour. They know how many people enter through the GM doors rather than the Market doors (which btw is roughly 70% Market). Walmart is on point..just because you were a shopping cart wrangler for 7 years doesn't mean you know shit about walmart. Walmart made nearly 400 billion last year...not had come in but revenue. A cheap company could not pull that off. So spare me this "I stocked shelves for wlamart so I know all the ins and outs" speech.

Fomblar has been working Walmart for ten years or so and is Co-manager of a store. I'd say I'll take his answer whatever it is over most here. You can say what you want about Walmart but it is probably one of the most successful companies in the country. So if they think only 4 lines are needed, then they must have a plan. I know when I was a cook years ago, they scheduled according to numbers by the hours from two years previous.

Well put Vtech........ Only they I would disagree with is though is that more people enter through the grocery doors instead of the GM door......... ( More grocery business than GM these days )
Thurm home office basically does our whole schedule from Bentonville now, ( as you can imagine probably tough to do ). Actually does a pretty good job if the manager over that area is keeping the front end staffed and keeps a good tab on the call ins. Call ins is your number one reason why your line backs up. How can you plan for 6 cashiers to call in? The system is very technical but it still has issues for instance slow days are usually worse than busy days, because the system generates very little hours so we have none to use.
I hope that answers your question Thurm............... Quit complaining about it and tell the cashiers their doing a good job.

Thats what I meant by market. But yeah we just had a big presentation on it yesterday about how action alley is coming back and and how Walmart is revamping alot of things now that (insert guy's name I can't remember) is back.

Don't buy condoms Thurm.........
Yes Vtech, the AA's are coming back, of course HO is controlling everything we put out now though. When the AA's first went away I was as happy as I could be ( less labor intensive ), now I can't wait to they are back. Which in my market we are full blown AA now. You can already see the difference in the sales trend.

lol. I buy them from friends because I can drive and they can't. Charging them double. Its like how Vtech talked about buying booze for minors. I've got some in my glove compartment for that one special woman.

You can already see the difference in the sales trend. Yeah thats one of my selling points for displays now. Since they are also giving more control to Grocery managers and stuff as far as displays. More relationship friendly for my team...but beer displays you guys don't have to pay for the upkeep because we take care of that for you. and thurm just pull out
