because shane means more to his team than mays. without him, that defense would be shit. mays is obviously the best player on that d, but they would still be really good without him. good season vtech.

I not usually known for having a standout on D. It's usually a group effort. Offense is usually my swag. Haven't won a butkus in a long time.

Your last Butkus trophy was 12 seasons ago when you were at South Carolina on the final season of the PS2 era.

I cant believe I lost this by such a wide margin, I mean its like comparing apples and oranges number wise but I do understand Carters value to the badgers. Just thought itd be alil closer

I think the fact that Carter had 3 touchdowns really sealed it for me.

I think it's whether you put more weight in tackles or picks..is 3 picks worth 20 tackles?? I think it is...

Yeah, the fact that you are getting the Heisman made my pick of Carter that much easier.

Oh im not complaining about losing this even tho the butkus and heisman are two seperate things, I just thought Mays body of work and all aorund game woulda made it closer. Yea carter had 3 more picks and more tds 2 tds then Mays but Mays also had 12 tackles for loss and 20 more tackles in general which means he was lethal in the pass and run game. I couldnt tell you how many times guys would have to start with 2 and 9s or 2nd and 10s either because of the work he did in the trenches which really gave me a huge advantage. All in all though good work this year from two safteys and they will both be showcasin' there skills in about 20 minutes..
