It all started in August of 2004. My brother and I would always do Madden and NCAA seasons together. So, one day I get the online thing and get it all hooked up. I am playing madden at the time and i'm using the Packers who had Dorsey Levens as their HB. I am playing some kid online and I get a message that says "join online league...." and it gave me a site to go to. So, I go and check it out and fall in love with it. I joined but nobody ever played. So, I thought, "I could do this".
I created it in NCAA 2005, we had 32 teams and let me tell you it was cheese fest. I had some rules in there, but not many b/c I was rather new to the whole online league gaming world. I only did 3 seasons in NCAA '05 and then I started it up again in '06 and it just kept building and getting better. I would adjust certain things and it was getting really fun for me.
The COFL really evolved in NCAA '07, in fact, it has been being played year round since then. In the beginning there were a few guys that were in a lot of seasons but they disappeared in '07, their EA names were Mr_Dupree, boomer01, Major Storm. Fowler was in it in the early seasons, but he disappeared as well. Also, E-berry was in '07 too and then he disappeared too.
I am starting to see a common trend and that is more guys are joining and staying put. The league has really become a giant success and I would like to believe that I set the trend for how a league should look and be ran. Granted, i'm not perfect and I let shit go sometimes, but in the end, you can honestly be proud to be in the College Online Football League b/c you know you are playing with the best.

That's a great read President Pete. It seems with ps3 and 09 there hasnt been any bitching after games either, we have 1 or 2 isolated incodents every season but for the most part everyone is pretty cool. I counted all the guys this season and I think 21 are legit league guys, that have played and are pretty dedicated to this. As far as video games this league sets the bar as far as fun, i don't know of any other game/ organization that comes close for

The reason that their hasn't been as much bitching is 1. Jim is gone, 2. Jim is gone and 3. Jim is gone. Also you can get video and pictures and stuff as evidence, sooooo yeah that helps too. But, Prez what were you doing playing as the Packers??? So much for Da Bears.

Rolle, I bet you were a packer fan in late 90's early 00's, especially when Dallas really sucked with Quincy Carter at QB. I know you weren't a Cowgirls fan then... cheeser!

are you saying that Quincy Carter wasnt a great quarterback? LOL. Oh man I remember those days. Three 5-11 seasons in a row under Dave Campo. Fun stuff for the Cowboys.

I guess this tradition means nothing...maybe we should get one of our more creative writers to post a "death of the cofl" if someone doesn't step up and save it soon...I'm on board to try and get it like. Used to be, before bitchin became an everyday thing

It all began to end when Prez got rid of his Ps3 to go overseas. At that point, Jtrain took over and a lot of shit happened that didn't get taken care of. From that point, everybody began to bitch and blah, blah, blah. NCAA09 ended and the league was in limbo.
NCAA10 came out and everybody was all excited about it. Then some guys figured out the run commit, DE blitzing, option didn't change, the qb was more mobile. This frustrated a lot of guys who were used to winning and everything went downhill. Now, Prez is on vacation fucking some Chilean woman and coaching football and guys just don't want to play anymore.

At least you are a vet Rolle, who is standing up for the league. Thank you.
I know that you have been struggling to get you excellence on in this new game, and probably are frustrated with your record and how things are going. But, you handle it like a man. I respect your for it.

I have zero desire to play this game. I have zero time right now. I can't even look at the site. I didn't want to look at it b/c I knew everyone would be bitching. I had to hide.

Prez its alright, we all have shit going on. First of all I played college basketball, which basketball games are my Forte'. I enjoy the league for its tradition. If you dont like the game, I can relate. I hate NBA Live, but play it for love of the game.
Handle your business we will hold it down. You help create some loyal leaders, which have stepped up to lead the league in you abscence. It's all good, this league was built on people having fun and uniting

I have zero desire to play this game. I have zero time right now. I can't even look at the site. I didn't want to look at it b/c I knew everyone would be bitching. I had to hide. I think we have gotten past the bitching. We have played a lot of games this last week and I don't remember anyone bitching, just a lot of "good games and best of success" type stuff. I personally apologize for my role in the bitching. I don't know what came over me, but truly that is not my normal self. The shockiing thing is that I am getting more competitive I believe. And how did I handle getting more competitive? I turned into a competitive dick. But, I can recognize that and correct it, and it won't happen again. Let's get back to the fun and comraderie of the league. Mr. President, when you come back, it is my goal that there will be a functioning and fun league to return to (even thought it will never run at its best without you.)
