This is an old played out thing but I am dead serious, if you have never watched the movie woodstock, the original one I strongly recommend it.
I actually watched it all the way through the other day on VH1 Classic.
What an amazing thing Woodstock was for 3 days, no money, record companies, or sponsors promoting a weekend music festival, simply put just artists getting together doing what they do, make art and a statement about the Vietnam war.
That old man had that farm in upstate New York and he just let them do a concert there for 3 days.
I really wish I could have been alive to go to this.

I have seen it, its great. VH1 did a great feature on it, they interviewed the guys who set it up. I guess they got sued big time by it and lost all their money or something like that. But they are doing good now, lol.

kent have you seen the trailer for new movie coming out 'Taking Woodstock'? it looks really well done. tells the backstory of how it all came to be. pretty damn cool.

people expecting it to be a music movie, though, i think are going to be disappointed b/c from what it looks like, it's the backstory leading up to the event which i think will still be great, but for some, it'll be a disappointment.

I was going on 12 then, and I really don't remember anything about it happening at the time, probably wasn't paying much attention to the news or anything that summer.
But, I vividly remember watching the Texas - Arkansas game live on TV in 1969. I thought it was the greatest game ever. It really helped fuel my love for football.

that's awesome scylth! texas v arkansas wouldn't even be a matchup this year but then it was quite the rivalry im sure.
hokie you're right 'taking woodstock' seems more of a comedy than anything else. similar vibe to almost famous.
