It freaking rocks, I dont even know where to start explaining it. This is a dream come true for me, the most realistic game they have ever made.
This game is really going to give video game guys fits the first 3 months.
It is so realistic, the over the shoulder catches are freaking amazing, hits are great, speed isnt the end all be all now and they fixed the jerky running glitch, you can zig zag back and forth all day and the D still adjusts for you.
The D plays so much smarter, if you have a money play you hit on every 3rd down, like a post of PA, the D will adjust for it.
Safeties adjust big time.
This game is the bomb, everything is so much more smoother, the pocket is finally a real fucking pocket now too.
If your good with the stick and jukes and have a good RB, it is going to be hard as hell to stop you on the first tackle.
The menu looks alot like 09 and the game feels like 09 but just a faster and smoother speed, similar to the ps2 speed.
You can get solid presure with your front 4.
I honestly think the 3-3-5, 3-2-6 days are long gone, it is all about the one on one matchups in the trenches now.
if you have a great OL guy run behind him and exploit the mis matches in the passing game.
This game rocks.

I also read an article about the custom stadium sounds this year. Online you can upload a team you have done and your friends can download it.
in 09 I literally had every song the UGA band plays at the times they play it in a real football game.
I played the defensive lock thing and I honestly think it will be a huge advantage for certain guys in the league.
Marshall comes to mind, if your style on d is to play one guy the entire play then that defensive lock will only make you better.
If your goal on d is to just rush with your DE i think that Player lock helps or if you play with your safety all the time.
the only disadvantage is you cant hit circle and get to the closest player, so depending on the type of player you are will determine if it is good for you or not.
One Glitch I have already found out is if your good at play calling and mixing up your plays, the AI on D will be on their heels and out of position.
Example, if your running up the gut on draws or delayed runs for 3-5 yards a pop, play action pass out of a stretch is extremely effective, the entire D bites on the PA pass it seems.
This game is really making it easier for guys like me every year it seems.

Yeah I'm on hour two of downloading. Not nice. But Kent, you were in love with NCAA 09 too and now you hate it. So I won't be surprised at all when cheesers and glitchers find the most effective stuff and make you hate 10 like you hate 09.

It's going to take a little getting used to but once you get the timing and tendencies down, it's going to be just fine. I like the player lock thing, but right now, you are at somewhat of a disadvantage as a safety. I think LB is going to be the way to go with that feature.

Also all the audibles are the same too and overall all the buttons are the same as 09. I want to say OU's playbook hasnt changed at all. The tackleing is alot smother I think and the OL holds their blocks in the trenches. The hits seem harder and the LB's slam the RB's to the ground it seems. Bradford hits everything on the money if he is in the pocket and his feet are set. The DL guys get presure alot faster than they did in 09.

Well even if the controls aren't the same (i noticed swat is now L1) you can change it to whatever you want.
First things I found were on the QB pocket and the dropback. The camera goes waaayyy back and you can't read what the defense is doing. Hell one time I couldn't even see the linebacker right in the middle of the field. I don't like the camera angles. But the running is better. The offensive line does block a lot better. Most of the tackles seem to be drag the guy down by the arm or by the torso and then pull him down.

Tell me you've seen the snap that goes over the QBs head. It happened 3/4 times in one game, it was quite irritating. Overall game looks great. Speed doesn't seem to be as much as a factor, seems like everybody on the field is really flying around (though it is UF/OU). As for user swat on DE, I did not know that it changed to L1, i was getting pissed b/c I couldn't knock down shit lol. Also for user picks, you seem to have to time your catch/jump much better. In 09 you could kind of hold triangle, or X and the swat/pick animation would be timed for you almost. Not really the case in 10 from what I've seen. Option game is not as effective as in 09 which I'm sure everyone is happy to hear. You really have to get your pitch off pretty early or your QB will just eat it. No more half wrapped up behind the back perfect pitches. I did get a pitch not down by a defender as well, CPU defenders definitely are reacting better. You can make some pretty nasty user catches at WR too, had a few nice rocket catches, but again timing can screw you up with user catches. I noticed a few times if you lob in up and are trying to run under it and you hit or hold triangle to soon your receiver slows down and doesn't get to the spot. I wish they would change the target color on the field for where the pass is going. A couple times in my games I couldn't see where the damn yellow icon was, wish it was blue or red, something more noticeable. Anyways, enough with my rant, can't wait for the next season to start!!

Just played the demo and it felt like I was playing Madden. The game speed reminded me of my PS2 09 version. When I bought my PS3 I was like damn this game is slower. Hell I had two homeboys that never bought the PS3 version for that reason. I agree with Work you have to time your option better, and once you wrap up the QB its hard for him to pitch or throw. To me the defense reacts quicker and perhaps smarter.
All in All I enjoyed it and I think its an upgrade from last year's version.

I don't think the sneak or the qb blast will be so automatic as it was on the last game. I tried it out a couple times with not so good results.

Playcalling is going to be a bigger factor this year than previous games.
also when you hit the sprint button with the QB your icons disapear or when you go out of the pocket. This is going to really tear up some lobby guys.
The biggest x factor in 10 is the over the shoulder catches in stride, flag routes are huge money plays against man defense with a good QB. The plays really dictate what the defense is doing. If you pass every down the D will sit back, if you pass over the middle consistantly the safeties automatically play the middle.
Over the shoulder catches will force defenses to be honest, say bye bye to show blitz too because in this new game you will get burned every time with this new over the shoulder catch.

Work, I had the same problem with the snap over the QBs head. I think what happens is you hit X twice for it to snap the ball. When you are in the shotgun it is a delay between when you hit X and when the ball is snapped.

All I know is that BBG is going to be hell to stop with the new over the shoulder passing options. His money flag routes were hard to stop in 09, with this option he can go over the top or underneath on those routes depending on the coverage.

The corner route is back to being the money play it used to be in 01-03.. The post is hard to see sometimes when you bullet it. The hike over your head is gay as hell and then the play just ends. I agree with cali i cant stand to be OU or Florida. The running is back but the passing is down a bit. Over all i am not that impressed. I like new ideas but just wish the old problems would be solved first instead of just turning into college madden

Also I have noticed that if you choose Agressive style of play, your guys will make plays but will also get more penalties.
Usually a hold, clipping, or facemask penalty every 4 or 6 downs it seems.
And yea, injuries happen too often, now that could be just in the demo so they can sport Erin Andrews giving us the update which is cool but will get old after a month.
Man D works too, crossing routes are not money plays against man anymore, the D will pick it off.
They game is great I think, overall it plays faster and smoother than 09.

The demo is just a taste of what we're going to get. Half the shit isn't even available right now. I'm not playing that much b/c it's hard for me to get into anything that isn't 100%. It's kind of like watching a t.v. movie that's in 2 parts. I hate the words ....to be continued. I can't watch a movie unless I see it from the beginning. It's going to be better than 09. I think we all know that. A lot of cheese will be removed. Personally, right now, 09 interests me more b/c I'm used to it. Once 10 comes out, I'll be into that game and 09 will be trash.

Every other post is Kent saying he has found a glitch, for someone who finds a "glitch" every other day your record doesn't show it. 2. The D bites? Sounds like smart playcalling not a glitch. 3. Apparently our definition of glitch is different. My idea of a glitch is the WR direct snap out of 5 wide in NCAA 2005, when you fake pitched on option in 03 the whole D would run the other way. Big difference between unrealistic and glitch.
