I can name a ton, but I will give you my top 3. You may not know these, but they are all good "love songs"

Scylth,
Girl from North Country WOods is an amazing song. Most of the guys on this site won't appreciate it, but I do. The version of this song with Johnny Cash singing it is awesome as well.

Mr. President -
Yes, I liked all three of those songs. I am somewhat familiar with the last two. That last song hits a little close to home, as my own true love moved to New York City, and I was left in kind of the situation the guy is describing.
Dylan recorded Girl of the North Country with Johnny Cash in the early 70's on "Nashville Skyline." For a long time I didn't realize that he was resurrecting a song that he had written at least by 1962. Anyway, it is a classic love song from the perspective of one who knows there will never again be a relationship, yet his true love remains.

I don't know how to put the videos in, but 'I Remember You' from Skid Row is my all time favorite. No sentimental reason or explanation other than I just always liked the song.

The "I remember you" reminded me of the song "I'll remember you" by Dylan. Here is an interesting live version. Things that I find interesting:
1.) I believe that is his second wife he is singing with, and he seems to be so happy for a change.
2.) That is Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers (one of my top 3 all time guitar players) playing all those beautiful, melodious rifts in the background.

The Dan Fogelberg song reminds me of my first love, you never forget the first girl you completely fell in love with.

Hey Kent, I remember that Fogleberg song. It is kind of sad.
My ex-wife loves her some Karen Carpenter. She always says, "it's not the songs so much as her voice, I just love her voice."

This is my number 1 break up song. Read the lyrics as they come up, a masterpiece.
Ween "Piss up a rope"

HaHa Kent, that is really funny.
Ok, my ex-wife insisted on posting this as one of the greatest love songs of all time. I have listened to a lot of Leonard Cohen, and used to even play some of his songs, but I never had heard this one.
I was stunned by this performance, and am thankful that she turned me on to this:

She always says, "it's not the songs so much as her voice, I just love her voice." yea it is a sad song, that is why i like it. Every girl you ever date or fall in love with 1 of two things always happens. 1. You guys eventually go separate ways 2. you live together the rest of your life.

3. You can marry, have kids, break up, get divorced, live together again, break up again, live together again, break up again, and live together again.

3. You can marry, have kids, break up, get divorced, live together again, break up again, live together again, break up again, and live together again. this is the same as being together the rest of your life. You and your ex scylth probably love each other more than anyone else you have ever loved. No one ever said love is easy but the fact that you guys keep getting back together is more incredable of a love story than if you were together the entire time. I would love to hear more about this one day.

By the way, my wife and I split up back in 2005 for 12 months.
She came down around September to get the rest of her stuff, we were in an apartment in Atlanta from 04-05 and she moved back in with her mom in Greenville. She came down in September with a moving van to get the rest of her stuff.
That day she cried, told me that she missed me and didn't want to have me out of her life.
We started dating again about a month after that and found love again.
I left my old company in Atlanta to start working for a new one and worked it out to where I could work from Greenville. We bought our house in march of 06 and things have been good since. Not perfect but we are a stronger couple after the 05 break up.

Wow, Kent, that is a great story, I am happy for both of you.
My ex-wife and I are best friends. We finally realized that the romance was too volatile for us to handle. We are pretty happy most of the time. She always has my back, and vice versa.

I had to pick one with a male singer, and she picked one with a female singer.
